I'm sick and 20 favorite tweets

I'm sick today.  I was sick yesterday, too.  Oh, and I was sick the day before that as well.  I've been wanting to update with a new post for a few days, but the internet was down Mon/Tues, and then I got sick, so now you know all my excuses.

Since I can barely concentrate on one thing for any amount of time (I may or may not have taken too much medicine???), I'm going to share with you some of my favorite tweets.  If you're a tweep (that's a twittering tweeter person, right?!?!), you should definitely look up UberFacts.  Daily (more like hourly) I get tweets from them and they're quite interesting.  Now, I will warn you, some of them are inappropriate.  The ones that are inappropriate I just skip over and ignore, but they do produce some tweets that teach me things I didn't know before, granted I haven't checked all of their validity, but those are the ones I appreciate. :) So, here you go.  The tweets are in black, and my comments to them are in red.  Enjoy.

  • In Samoa, it's a crime to forget your own wife's birthday. This should always be a crime!
  • Chocolate lovers suffer fewer strokes.  What a great excuse for me to get my daily chocolate consumption in!
  • The average woman spends about 2 years of her lifetime looking at herself in a mirror. Men spend about 6 months.  Not so sure about that--I've seen some pretty self absorbed men.
  • Left-handed people die on average, 9 years earlier than right-handed people.  I guess that means that I won't die with Luke, he's left-handed.
  • When the moon is directly overhead, you weigh slightly less.  Why can't the  moon be directly overhead all day, everyday?
  • Listening to upbeat and cheerful music makes you perceive your surroundings as happier. I can definitely see how this works, but I suppose the same goes for depressing music, too
  • By 2020, depression will be one of the 2nd leading cause of death and disability.  How sad, but maybe they should just listen to more cheerful music, yeah?
  • Women are 7-9 times more likely to suffer from broken heart syndrome.  Yeah, because women actually have hearts!  (sorry, men).
  • Depressed people eat more chocolate. That's because they're worried about consuming enough chocolate so they have fewer strokes, right?
  • The Norwegian word for marriage and poison is "gift."  yikes.
  • The average amount of time a woman can keep a secret is 47 hours and 15 minutes.  Based on the secret sharing/keeping rates at my high school, I say that the actual number is WAY less--say, 2 minutes?
  • It is illegal in California to lick toads. Apparently, students were licking toads to get high and were harmed by it's poison.  Gross, why would you LICK a toad?
  • If you Google search "anagram," Google responds, "Did you mean nag a ram?"  True story, I did it.
  • Barack Obama is used as a mannequin in China.  See below.

  • You can tell whether or not your truly whispering by putting your hand on your throat. If you feel vibrations, you're not whispering. Go ahead, you know you want to try it.
  • The "Pinky Promise" originally indicated that the person who breaks the promise must cut off their pinky finger.  I know some people that should be walking around pinky-less right now!
  • If you search for 241543903 in Google images, you will find a lot of pictures of people putting their heads in refrigerators. Again, true story, go see for yourself.
  • Grizzly Bears and Polar Bears can mate. Their offspring are referred to as "Pizzlies" and "Grolar Bears."  I personally like Pizzlies, sounds cute and fluffy. :)
  • The first man to survive going over Niagara Falls later died from slipping on an orange peel.  Really?  An Orange peel?
  • On February 8th, 2000, the meaning of life was auctioned on eBay. The winning big was $3.26.  I retweeted this fact, and someone debated with me over it.  I said that the meaning of life was worth WAY more than money could ever buy, and some guy from Kansas State argued with me over Twitter for half and hour.  His response was, why waste money on "the meaning of life" when you can buy 3 cheeseburgers?  Touche!

Also, if you're on twitter, follow me, or let me follow you!  Here I am! Follow me!
