Compelled by love

Over this past weekend, my husband and I traveled down to Arkansas for the Fine Arts Festival in Russellville.  We were given the opportunity to watch junior high and high school students compete in different categories throughout the weekend.  Some of the categories were, human video, drama, vocal solo, vocal group, instrumental, art, photography, sign language, and the list goes on.

The students were given a theme for this years festival and had to come up with whatever they wanted and had to tie in the theme.  This years theme was "Compelled by Love".  I just LOVE this theme.  I think it's the best one they've come up with since I've been around Fine Arts Festivals. I must admit, those Arkansas students did an amazing job depicting God's love in the category of their choice.

After watching the students depict what they believed was "compelled by love", I started thinking.  If I were in Fine Arts, what would I have done?

So, here it is.  If I were to sing in the female vocal solo category, I would have chosen the song What Love Really Means.  Here are the lyrics.

He cries in the corner where nobody sees
He's the kid with the story no one would believe
He prays every night, "Dear God won't you please...
Could you send someone here who will love me?"

Who will love me for me

Not for what I have done or what I will become
Who will love me for me
'Cause nobody has shown me what love
What love really means

Her office is shrinking a little each day

She's the woman whose husband has run away
She'll go to the gym after working today
Maybe if she was thinner
Then he would've stayed
And she says...

Who will love me for me?
Not for what I have done or what I will become
Who will love me for me?
'Cause nobody has shown me what love, what love really means

He's waiting to die as he sits all alone

He's a man in a cell who regrets what he's done
He utters a cry from the depths of his soul
"Oh Lord, forgive me, I want to go home"

Then he heard a voice somewhere deep inside

And it said
"I know you've murdered and I know you've lied
I have watched you suffer all of your life
And now that you'll listen, I'll tell you that I..."

I will love you for you

Not for what you have done or what you will become
I will love you for you
I will give you the love
The love that you never knew
My God's love extends as far as the East is to the West.  It's a love that will never go away.  He loves everyone including those that the world considers "unlovable".  If you don't have His love, I would really like to encourage you to accept Him as your personal Savior.  He doesn't care about your past.  Let Him love you.  You'll never regret it if you do.

If you have any questions, feel free to comment back and ask, or you can even email me.  I'd love to hear from you and answer any questions you might have.
